Foodlab's core laboratory was established in 1991. Its primary mission was to provide services to the food and water industry in Cyprus and abroad. Its vision was to cover the needs of this industry during an evolution to a new era in food quality, and continuous control of product improvements.
However, with the increasing demands for higher quality induced by an evolving industry, and motivated by the extenuating factor of a National effort for harmonization of Cyprus' legislation with European regulatory bodies, the laboratory encountered additional challenges faced new prospects, and initiated ventures that lead to the establishment of new capabilities, to the import of new laboratorial analyses, and expansion of the mission to studies of environmental issues since 1994.
Today, the scientific personnel of the laboratory includes scientists of various specialties. Each has developed a high degree of responsibility, has learned to utilize the technological capabilities and new equipment, and has joined in a collective effort to meet all the needs of Cypriot and foreign consumers, the demands of the local government, and the specialized expectations of industrialists or the tradesmen.
Our various specialized laboratory divisions analyze over 20000 samples per year, provided by a wide spectrum of customers that includes hotel chains, the food industry, trade organizations, cooperatives, governmental departments, as well as private individuals.
