International Medical Law & Ethics SocietyDescription: The International Society of Medical Law and Ethics (IMLES) is a registered charity and a non-profit making organization. Some of the main objectives of the Society are listed below and additionally through especially set up international groups of persons interested in medical law and the ethics of medicine, will attempt to provide a wide ranging forum to further these objectives, and create more interest. Encourage education in medical law and ethics Foster good medical practice for the benefit of patients by promoting understanding of medical law and ethics. Provide a focus for education in medical law and ethics worldwide. Co-operate with other interested professional bodies. Make representations to medical, legal, governmental and other such bodies as may be concerned with any aspects of medical law and ethics. To prepare and publish official society policy on issues of current medical law and ethics interest. To provide advice and support to official bodies and organizations worldwide and through National sister societies as may be required. The Society may obtain goods and chattels as necessary for the furtherance of its objectives. The Society may not carry on any trade or business apart from that specifically authorized.
